Home sales may be lagging across the nation, but Allentown is the No. 7 fastest-selling housing market among the 100 most populous U.S. metros according to research just published by Clever Real Estate.
Spring is traditionally one of the busiest times for the housing market, the agency said, but this year, it’s off to a sluggish start.
Easing mortgage rates and slower home price appreciation were supposed to get buyers and sellers off the sidelines in 2026, but the war in Iran sent mortgage rates soaring and rattled consumer confidence.
According to the report, Allentown homes are on the market for a median of 28 days, and 44% of homes are off the market within 2 weeks.
The median listing price is $379,900, with 36% selling above the listing price.
Conversely, 21% of Allentown listings have seen price drops.
Allentown has a supply of two months of housing inventory, with about 1.07 homes for sale per 1,000 residents.
Time on market decreased two days year-over-year in Allentown.
The five fastest-selling metros are San Jose, California; San Francisco, California; Rochester, New York; Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and Seattle, Washington.
In March, Clever Real Estate said home sales fell to their slowest pace in nine months as many consumers wait to see economic improvement before making a move.
