Bensalem Township Police Department Celebrates 75th Anniversary
Founded on November 1, 1951, the department marks 75 years of service and will issue commemorative badges to all sworn personnel beginning Nov. 1, 2026.
The Bensalem Township Police Department was established on November 1, 1951, when Chief George Rentz and Officer Engelbert Smith took their oaths of office. Since then, 322 men and women have sworn to protect and serve the township; for its 75th anniversary the department will issue commemorative badges to all sworn personnel starting November 1, 2026. The department emphasized its decades-long commitment to public safety, professionalism and community trust and pledged to continue serving with pride and integrity.
