Driveway-sealing scam reported on Chase Road
A Newtown resident says two men posing as workers for a sealing company demanded $1,700 after sealing a driveway despite a prior $350 agreement; the original company says the men were not its employees.
On Aug. 2, a complainant on the 1300 block of Chase Rd. reported contracting a company to seal their driveway for $350. Two unknown males arrived earlier than scheduled, claimed to be from that company and sealed the driveway, then demanded $1,700. The victim paid by check; the original company later confirmed the men were not their employees and the investigation is ongoing.
