West Whiteland Fire Company volunteers, who serve around the clock, are promoting this year’s Fire Prevention Week theme: “Charge Into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower!” They advise using manufacturer chargers, avoiding charging devices on beds, couches or under pillows, unplugging devices once fully charged, and stopping use of batteries that feel hot, smell strange or change shape; residents are also urged to thank firefighters and test home smoke alarms.
