On Sept. 6, 2026, at about 10:57 a.m., Mechanicsburg police stopped a vehicle at South Arch and East Marble Streets to verify a learner's permit. Passenger Frank Nelms, 19, lacked a valid driver’s license and was found to be wanted by Maryland for driving without a license; the Maryland agency confirmed the warrant. Nelms was taken into custody as a fugitive from justice, transported to Cumberland County Prison for processing and to await a hearing on extradition (case MBG-2026-09-0271).
