On September 6, 2026 at about 10:57 a.m., Mechanicsburg police stopped a vehicle at South Arch and East Marble Streets to verify licenses because the driver was operating on a learner’s permit. Passenger Frank Nelms, 19, was found not to have a valid driver’s license and was wanted by Maryland for driving without a license; the Maryland agency confirmed the warrant. Nelms was arrested as a fugitive from justice, transported to Cumberland County Prison and is awaiting an extradition hearing (case MBG-2026-09-0271).
