John Julius Hudson IV Arrested as Habitual Traffic Offender; Passenger Later Charged in Gun Possession
A June 24 traffic stop for defective tag lights led to the arrest of John Julius Hudson IV for violating the Habitual Offender Act and, after a later encounter, the arrest of passenger Yendor Yorel Green on felony firearm charges.
On June 24 an officer stopped a vehicle at Ashley Phosphate Road and Cross County Road for defective tag lights. Driver 31-year-old John Julius Hudson IV admitted his license was suspended and was arrested for violating the Habitual Offender Act; the front-seat passenger, 45-year-old Yendor Yorel Green, had a small burnt blunt in a bag and initially left the scene after his mother provided an incorrect birth date. An inventory search later recovered a handgun underneath the front passenger seat fitted with a black light and laser, 18 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber; Green was located and arrested on July 10 during a traffic stop on Peppermill Parkway and charged with felony possession of a firearm, then taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center where he was also held on outstanding Berkeley and Dorchester County warrants.
