PGCB: March 2026 gaming revenue rises to $602.4M
Total gaming revenue in March 2026 reached $602,399,907, a 4.85% increase from March 2025, producing $259,240,523 in tax revenue.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported a rise in gaming revenue in March 2026.
The combined total revenue generated from all forms of gaming including fantasy contests in March was $602,399,907, which was 4.85% above revenue generated a year ago at this time. The resulting tax revenue during March of this year was $259,240,523.
Types of gaming regulated by the agency are slot machines and table games in casinos, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests, and video gaming terminals (VGTs).
March’s revenue from the play of retail slot machines was $216,199,291, which was a 2.83% decrease in revenue from the $222,499,993 generated in March 2025. The number of slot machines in operation in March 2026 was 24,311 compared to 24,373 at the casinos last year at this time. Tax revenue from the play of slot machines in March 2026 was $109,182,212.
Retail Table Games revenue for the month was $78,711,983, a decrease of 3.88% from March 2025 when revenue was $81,891,242. Total tax revenue from table games play during March 2026 was $13,391,644.
Online casino games generated $254,698,991 in March 2026. Compared to revenue of $238,220,161 a year ago at this time, this represents an increase of 6.92%. Tax revenue generated from iGaming during March 2026 was $117,267,165.
March 2026 total sports wagering handle was $730,853,609, or 13.29% below the March 2025 handle of $842,856,961. The taxable revenue figure for March 2026 was $47,855,881, which was 77.07% higher when compared to the March 2025 taxable revenue of $27,026,829. Tax revenue generated from sports wagering during March 2026 was $17,228,117.
Total adjusted revenue for March 2026 for VGTs was $3,868,434, an increase of 4.12% over the March 2025 revenue was $3,715,486. By the end of March 2026, all VGT Operators offered the maximum permitted five machines at each of the 76 qualified truck stop establishments, compared to five machines at each of the 74 establishments in March 2025. Tax revenue collected from the play of VGTs in March 2026 was $2,011,586.
The March 2026 revenue for Fantasy Contests was $1,065,327, a decrease of 9.74% over the March 2025 revenue of $1,180,292. Tax revenue collected from Fantasy Contests in March 2026 was $159,799.
The PGCB oversees all aspects of gambling involving 17 land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, and VGTs at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.
The land-based casino industry in Pennsylvania consists of six racetrack (Category 1) casinos, five stand-alone (Category 2) casinos, two resort (Category 3) casinos and four mini-casinos (Category 4). A job generator, casinos and other types of Board-regulated gaming returned $2.98 billion in tax revenue and fees to Pennsylvanians in 2026.
