Robotic Gait Training Helps Robin Walk

Trexo robotic gait trainer helps children with lower‑extremity weakness or spasticity build strength, practice stepping and increase independence in pediatric inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.

For a little boy like Robin Houck, who has been in physical therapy since he was born paralyzed unexpectedly, working in the Trexo robotic gait trainer offers a new challenge.

Building strength, getting steps in and having fun all while doing it — it’s all part of Robin’s journey, as told by his mom, Kim Houck.

Good Shepherd provides three sizes of the robotic equipment, which allows children with lower-extremity weakness and/or spasticity to get on their feet and walk — maybe even for the first time. This gait training technology is offered to patients in both inpatient pediatric and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation settings to encourage independence and physical activity.
