Record year for Lehigh Valley International Airport: busiest passenger and cargo traffic

Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) recorded its busiest year in 2025 with 1,067,114 passengers and a 21% jump in air cargo volume.

Highest passenger count and air cargo volume on record for ABE

(Hanover Township, PA) – 2025 was the busiest year in the history of Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE).

From the air travel perspective, 1,067,114 passengers used ABE in 2025– an increase of 5.4% from 2024.

“Thank you to everyone for making ABE the airport of choice in the region. Beyond the expansion of flight options, ABE has made significant investments to enhance the passenger experience. We appreciate the dedication of our airport staff and their strong commitment to delivering the highest-level of customer service,” said Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA).

2025 produced plenty of accomplishments which include:

  • ABE was recognized as one of the Best Small Airports by Newsweek Readers’ Choice Awards for a second consecutive year
  • Celebrated 20th Anniversary of the partnership between Allegiant Air and ABE
  • Allegiant launched nonstop flights to Fort Myers, Florida
  • ABE was the first airport in PA to implement GoodMaps – indoor navigation tool for improved accessibility
  • Construction was started on a Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at ABE

Meanwhile, 301,979,109 pounds of air cargo processed through ABE in 2025 – a 21.0% increase from 2024.

“This number reflects ABE’s integral role in logistics across the Northeast Corridor of the United States. Improving airfield infrastructure to meet current demand is critical, with the Airport prioritizing the following projects: ongoing rehabilitation of Runway 6-24 and Taxiway Alpha, plus the construction of Taxiway Delta,” said Stoudt.
