Scam Alert: Don’t Let Scammers Rush You

Scammers can spoof caller ID and create false urgency—stop, verify through official channels, and never share codes or move money at a stranger's request.

Scammers may appear to call from banks, retailers, or tech companies and can spoof caller ID, use copied voices, or claim your accounts are compromised to create urgency. Never give passwords, PINs, Social Security numbers, or verification codes; don’t transfer money, buy gift cards, or call numbers the caller provides—hang up and contact the institution using an official number. Consider a private family code word to confirm callers claiming to be relatives, and contact your bank and local police immediately if you think you’ve been scammed.
