Stolen vehicle recovered after pursuit; juveniles taken into custody
A vehicle reported stolen overnight from South High Street was located in Lower Paxton Township after a pursuit; several juveniles were taken into custody.
On September 8, 2026, Mechanicsburg police received reports of a vehicle stolen from the 400 block of South High Street and two thefts from vehicles parked on the 200 and 300 blocks of West Maplewood Avenue; all vehicles were left unlocked and the stolen car’s key fob was inside. The stolen vehicle was located in Lower Paxton Township in the early morning of September 9, and a vehicle pursuit ended with numerous juveniles from Harrisburg addresses taken into custody; Lower Paxton Police will handle charges and file with Dauphin County Juvenile Probation. Mechanicsburg police reminded residents to lock vehicles and remove valuables to help prevent such crimes.
