On Oct. 24, Bucks County residents disposed of 10,805.91 pounds of expired or unneeded medications and 802.28 pounds of sharps across 49 collection sites during the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. District Attorney Joe Khan said removing over 11,600 pounds of medications and sharps — a 12% increase from earlier this year — is a win for public health; seven sites also provided fifty free NARCAN® nasal spray kits. Year‑round anonymous drop boxes (45 locations) and free NARCAN requests are available through the Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission (215-444-2700, [email protected]); since 2010 the community has discarded 274,173.29 pounds of medication.
