E-Bike or E-Moto? Know the Difference
Higher-powered electric motorcycles (e-motos) are legally motor vehicles—not toys—and are subject to different laws than e-bikes.
Electric dirt bikes and e-motorcycles (e-motos) have become more common across the Denver metro area, including Cherry Hills Village, but higher-powered electric vehicles are legally considered motor vehicles and subject to different operation requirements than e-bikes. The City and Cherry Hills Village Police Department urge residents to learn device classifications and where each may legally operate to address unsafe and unlawful riding on roads, trails, sidewalks, shared-use paths, and parks; see the Cherry Hills Village E-Moto Web Page for details.
