South Heidelberg Police Joins Blue Envelope Program to Aid Drivers with Disabilities
Police will distribute Blue Envelopes to help drivers with autism or other communication challenges safely communicate during traffic stops.
The South Heidelberg Township Police Department is participating in the Blue Envelope Program to improve communication and support during traffic stops for drivers with disabilities. The Blue Envelope signals to officers that a driver may have a disability and should contain the driver's license, vehicle registration, current insurance card and emergency contact information. Drivers with disabilities and their caregivers are encouraged to pick up an envelope at the police department and contact the department with any questions.
