Road work and overnight closures in Castle Shannon, Oct. 8–16, 2026
Overnight closures and daytime maintenance planned for Killarney Tunnel, Castle Shannon Blvd and the Route 88 corridor; expect delays.
The Castle Shannon Police Department warns of multiple traffic disruptions from Oct. 8–16, 2026. The Killarney Tunnel will be closed overnight (7 p.m.–6 a.m.) the week of Oct. 12–16 for Columbia Gas subcontractor work, expected to finish by Oct. 16; Columbia Gas crews will also work overnight on Castle Shannon Blvd on Oct. 8 (8 p.m.–6 a.m.) and from Oct. 11–16. Mele and Mele will perform line painting and other maintenance along the Route 88 corridor with day work on Oct. 8 and Oct. 11; commuters should plan for possible delays.
