Fireworks to mark Columbia’s 300th anniversary will be set off from the former McGinnis Airport near 10th St. and Manor St. at approximately 8:15 PM; organizers have posted designated viewing zones and safety rules.
On Saturday night at approximately 8:15 PM a fireworks display celebrating Columbia’s 300th anniversary will be launched from the former McGinnis Airport property in the area of 10th St. and Manor St. A green area on the site is walk‑in only (bring a chair or blanket), while the red area is marked DO NOT ENTER; entry is available from 9th St. by Franklin St. and the 11th St./Manor St. area. The Columbia Borough Fire Department will staff the bingo hall kitchen; its parking lot is reserved for social club members and firefighters, and attendees may park only on legal public streets—do not block driveways or trespass. Alcohol is prohibited on the property, visitors should take their trash, and organizers note some damp spots in the grass and that it will be dark when leaving, so bring bug spray and use caution entering and exiting.
