George Virgil Dayton Jr. arrested on stalking, terroristic threats charges

On Sept. 18, 2026, Forks Township officers met with a victim who said they were being stalked and threatened and provided a series of text messages identifying the suspect as George Virgil Dayton Jr.; an arrest warrant was issued that day. Dayton, 51, was taken into custody by Atlantic City police and held at Atlantic County Jail pending extradition; he was transported to Judge Hutnik for arraignment on Sept. 24, 2026, where bail was set at $75,000 and he was moved to Northampton County Prison.
