Greg Hayes arrested after police seize more than 1,000 child sexual abuse files
A tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led investigators to files traced to an account registered to Greg Hayes, prompting a search that uncovered more than 1,000 files.
Pennsylvania State Police’s Computer Crime Task Force charged 63-year-old Greg Hayes of Herminie after a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children identified 58 files linked to an IP address tied to Hayes. A search of his Herminie Road home yielded multiple electronic and storage devices containing more than 1,000 files of child sexual abuse material involving adolescents; troopers say Hayes attempted to flee when informed of his arrest. He faces counts of possessing and disseminating child sexual abuse material, criminal use of a communication facility and resisting arrest, and was denied bail.
