Herminie man charged after police find more than 1,000 child sexual abuse files
State police say a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led investigators to an account linked to files; a search of a Herminie home uncovered more than 1,000 files on multiple electronic devices.
Pennsylvania State Police's Computer Crime Task Force charged Greg Hayes, 63, of Herminie after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children identified files of child sexual abuse material linked to an account registered to him. A search warrant at his Herminie Road residence yielded multiple electronic and digital storage devices containing more than 1,000 files involving adolescent children; troopers say Hayes attempted to run after being told he was under arrest. He faces charges of possessing and disseminating child sexual abuse material, criminal use of a communication facility and resisting arrest, and was denied bail.
